The Gordon A. Spielberg Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Gordon A. Spielberg Memorial Scholarship Fund will support a scholarship in his memory at Westchester High School in Los Angeles. The scholarship criteria will be a graduating senior in good standing from Westchester High School pursuing a four year degree in education with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and a record of good citizenship and community service.



Gordon Alexander Spielberg was a dedicated educator who worked in the LA Unified school system for 18 years. His passions included environmental causes, the Mayan culture, crossword puzzles, reading, and he was an enthusiastic sports fan and an Eagle Scout. Born in Los Angeles, he also lived in New Jersey, Kansas, Texas, Mexico and Holland. He earned a Bachelor of Communications and Spanish degree from University of the Pacific and a Master's degree in Spanish from Rice University. He leaves behind wife, Georgina, daughter Katie, mother Gilda, sister and brother-in-law Genevieve and Armin (Frey), and nephews Spencer, Justin, and Carter.
